Ny’alotha, the sleeping city, has awakened. For the first time in millennia, N’Zoth sits on his throne within the Black Empire. His armies flood from their dark halls, once again wreaking havoc on Azeroth. As the world shudders from these invasions, a desperate plan is hatched. Champions from the Horde and Alliance are gathered to face this ancient enemy within his own realm for one final confrontation that will decide the fate of the universe.
How to get there?
The things with this raid entrance is slightly different from usual — it changes, depending on which zone is currently being attacked by N’Zoth and his minions. The entrance should change once every week, on the weekly reset, and you are able to see which zone currently has the Ny’alotha entrance by searching for the obelisk icon on your map.
When Uldum is under attack by the forces of N’Zoth, the entrance will be by the upper level of the Vir’naal Dam, at the central part of Uldum.
When the Vale of Eternal Blossoms is under attack by the forces of N’Zoth, the entrance will be by Whitepetal Lake, at the central part of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Bosses
Ny’alotha includes 12 boss encounters. The boss order for the raid is pretty non-linear, but there are points when you need to defeat all available bosses before you’re allowed to continue.
1. Vision of Destiny
Wrathion, The Black Emperor
Despite all his precautions, Wrathion could not avoid succumbing to the madness that claimed his father. With his mind twisted by N’Zoth, he believes that the only way he can truly defend Azeroth is to rule it in the Old God’s name. A prince no longer, Wrathion now takes his rightful place as the Black Emperor.
Maut
As the ancient aqir arose from the desert sands, their prophets set about the construction of an obsidian destroyer imbued with the essence of the Old Gods. Driven by an insatiable thirst for magic, Maut consumed the mana of its creators once it awoke and left their corpses to rot under the scorching sun of Uldum.
The Prophet Skitra
A master of illusion, Skitra delights in terrorizing his victims as he breaks their perception of reality. Those who fail to see through his deceptions become lost in Ny’alotha for eternity.
2. Halls of Devotion
Shad’har the Insatiable
One of N’Zoth’s most nightmarish creations, Shad’har the Insatiable feasts on the corrupted carcasses that the Old God’s minions discard into its domain. Tormented by ceaseless hunger, Shad’har’s body twists and mutates with every corpse it devours.
Drest’agath
The grotesque amalgam of flesh known as Drest’agath slumbered beneath Ny’alotha for millennia until being awakened by N’Zoth’s return. Now she rises like a revolting boil, ready to burst and spread her vile pestilence across Azeroth.
Il’gynoth, Corruption Reborn
Following its defeat in the Emerald Nightmare, Il’gynoth retreated into the depths of Ny’alotha to regain its strength. Now it has fused with the city’s architecture and spreads across the Black Empire like a creeping infestation. As Il’gynoth’s corrupting flesh grows ever larger, so does its power.
3. Gift of Flesh
Dark Inquisitor Xanesh
Few can resist the whispers of the Old Gods, but those who do find themselves at the “mercy” of Dark Inquisitor Xanesh. A cruel and sadistic torturer, Xanesh prides herself on slowly carving the sanity away from those in her charge until all that remains is unwavering devotion to N’Zoth.
Vexiona
Obsessively wielding the power that N’Zoth has granted her, Vexiona has amassed a cult of worshippers who covet the gifts of the Void. From high atop her temple within the Black Empire, she transforms her most devout followers into unstoppable horrors.
The Hivemind
Locked in a contest of wills, the generals Ka’zir and Tek’ris constantly vie for dominance over their fellow aqir. As they wrest control away from one another, the hive shifts its tactics and obeys each of their commands with fervent loyalty.
Ra-den, The Despoiled
As he bravely fought to save the Chamber of Heart, Ra-den was pulled into Ny’alotha where he has fallen victim to N’Zoth’s whispers. The despair he harbored for so long has overwhelmed the last of his hope, rendering his corruption complete. Now the former Highkeeper will stop at nothing to do the Old God’s bidding.
4. The Waking Dream
Carapace of N’Zoth
At the center of Ny’alotha stands a dread mountain of flesh, teeming with eyes and tendrils of unfettered corruption. Madness itself seeps from the writhing mass, eroding the sanity of all who approach it. This is the heart of the Black Empire, N’Zoth’s seat of power, the body of a god.
N’Zoth, the Corruptor
From his titan-forged prison deep beneath the waves, N’Zoth spent eons subtly spreading his influence across Azeroth. Now free from captivity, the Corruptor reveals his true form as he enacts his ultimate plan to make his vision of the Black Empire our new reality. If he is not stopped, all we have ever known will be remade in the image of his eternal madness.
Gear
The first ten bosses in the raid have the following item level loot: 430 LFR, 445 Normal, 460 Heroic, 475 Mythic
Carapace of N’Zoth and N’Zoth, the two final bosses of the raid, have slightly better loot item levels: 440 LFR, 455 Normal, 470 Heroic, 485 Mythic
Warforging or Titanforging does not exist in since 8.3 patch no more, and Ny’alotha is not an exeption, with items instead having a chance of becoming Corrupted — a new affix that grants both positive and negative stats.
Cloth Sets (from LFR to Mythic)
The Cloth sets from Ny’alotha resemble the garments from the Twilight’s Hammer, the religious sect that dedicates themselves to following the Old Gods.
Leather Sets
The Leather Sets from Ny’alotha resemble the Aqir, an insectoid race that originated from the organic matter seeped by the Old Gods
Mail Sets
The Mail Sets from Ny’alotha resemble the K’thir, corrupted humanoid creatures coming from the tides. The K’thir became known to us during the Stormsong Valley storyline, with Lord Stormsong himself being converted to one.
Plate Sets
The Plate Sets from Ny’alotha resemble the N’raqi. Known to the general population as Faceless Ones, the N’raqi are another race originated from the organic matter let out by the Old Gods.
Note: There’s no cloaks in the loot table, since you will have Legendary one for Wrathion quest.
Weapons
Heart of Azeroth Essence
Defeating one of the five bosses (The Prophet Skitra, Vexiona, Ra-den the Despoiled, Il’gynoth, Corruption Reborn and N’Zoth) will award you with a number (depends on the difficulty) of Encrypted Ny’alothan Text, which can be combined to create a Heart of Azeroth Essence, Formless Void.
You’ll need 15 Encrypted Ny’alothan Text to create the Rank 1 Version of the Essence, 30 for the Rank 2 and 60 for the Rank 3. The Essence that Encrypted Ny’alothan Text will create is the same for all 3 specializations.
Mounts
Wriggling Parasite
Ny’alotha Allseer
This one is much harder to get — it’s Mythic-only exclusive last boss mount. Pretty descent look, right?
Uncorrupted Voidwing
<A small dragon emerges from one of the side chambers found within N’Zoth’s great carapace. It appears confused. You surmise that such chambers must have been used to corrupt the dragons, exposing them directly to N’Zoth’s dark whispers. At a young age, they would be driven mad, moreso than any other members of the twilight dragonflight that you had met before. There would be no turning back from such madness. But maybe it’s not too late for this one…>
Although this is not confirmed, it can be theorized that the Uncorrupted Voidwing is the Ahead of the Curve mount for Ny’alotha, following a trend started in Warlords of Draenor with Heroic difficulty bosses from final raids both giving mounts by the quest. It’s called Lost Flight, if you’re interested.
And that’s it for most part of raid content, Heroes! Of course, there will be more achievements, pets, some gear with uniqie perks and other features, but we’ll let you experience all of that yourself! Since this article was quite a long-read we’re reminding you that Ny’alotha will open its doors for most brave Champions in a week since release of 8.3 Patch, 21/22 of January for US/EU servers. And don’t forget to check our site and our blog next week, when we will cover all of our new 8.3 offers!
That will be it for today’s post, stay safe, don’t get you mind corrupted and we’ll see you in the land of Azeroth!
